At Build 2023, Microsoft made several AI-related announcements, including bringing Bing to OpenAI’s ChatGPT to give the AI chatbot a search engine to provide timelier and more up-to-date answers from the web.


The company also announced the Bing plugin to provide the new experiences to free users soon. Building on this, Microsoft is also bringing Bing Chat widget on Android.



In one of the Microsoft Bing blog posts, the company said that it has launched a new Bing Chat widget that will enable Android users to add it to their devices' Home screen. Once installed, selecting the Bing icon will take them directly to chat.
How to add Bing Chat widget on Android

Widgets allow users to quickly get to their favourite content by customising Home screens. If you have an Android device, you can follow these instructions to add widgets to your Home screen.


  1. On a Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
  2. Tap Widgets and touch and hold a widget. You’ll get images of Home screens.
  3. Slide the widget to where you want it on the home screen and lift your fing to resize a widget

  1. Touch and hold the widget on the Home screen.
  2. Lift your finger; if the widget can be resized, you'll find an outline with dots on the sides.
  3. To resize the widget, drag the dots.
  4. When done, tap outside the widget.

Other features on Android, iPhone

Microsoft has already rolled out some features for Android smartphones and iPhones.


Compose messages in SwiftKey:
The company released a new Compose feature in SwiftKey that works similarly to Compose in Edge sidebar. It generates text for users based on thier selected parameters, including subject, message tone, format, and length. Microsoft brought support for two new tones: Witty and Funny.


Translator in SwiftKey on iOS: Microsoft released an AI-powered translator to the SwiftKey keyboard that supports all Bing Chat languages. Translator, which has already been shipped on Android, is now available on iOS this week.


Sports Grounding: Microsoft also brought sports-related data support on Bing Chat. Users can now ask, "What's the score between the last match in IPL 2023," and it will give better answers,
